Vex Robotics is one of the leading manufacturers of robotic kits for education and competition. Some of the top robotics teams use their products in over 5,000 schools worldwide.
The company was founded in 2003 by Tony Norman and Bob Mimlitch, two engineers who saw a need for more affordable and accessible robots for education and competition. Since then, this company has created competitions as a way to get more people interested in robotics. Here’s everything you need to know about the 2023 Vex competition.
The Tournament Is Split Up Into Competitions
Vex Competitions are split up into two different competitions. The first is called VEX IQ Competition which is for grades 4-8 and involves more than 8,500 teams from 45 countries. This competition includes a teamwork challenge, a robot skills challenge, and a STEM research project.
The second competition is known as Vex Robotics Competition Spin Up, which is for grades 6-12. More than 11,500 teams from 40 countries will play in this competition. Teams will need to participate in standard matches, robot skill challenges, and online challenges in order to advance.
The top 1,650 teams are invited to the Vex Robotics World Championship, which will be held in Dallas, Texas. This experience is not only an opportunity for your team to compete against the best of the best but also a chance to learn and network with other like-minded individuals.
When Should I Register My Team?
Registration has already begun for the 2023 season, so it’s important to register now if you’re interested in being a part of the competition. The sooner you register your team, the better chance you have of getting into the competition.
