For those graduates seeking an exotic senior trip destination, Mexico may be just what you're looking for. Blessed with coasts on both the Alantic and Pacific oceans, happening resorts can be reached with a feasible plane flight from just about anywhere in the lower 48 states. Closer to the equator than most of the United States, Mexico offers offers warmer weather and the lifestyle to match. Of course the main resort towns are located in prime coastal regions with tropical surroundings, sunny beaches and glistening waters. In addition to a myriad of outdoor activities, most senior trip destinations in Mexico have a plethora of nightlife spots that cater to a younger crowd. Wherever they choose to go, Mexico is sure to offer graduates a celebratory vacation they will never forget.
Located on the Yucatán Peninsula along the Caribbean Sea, Cancún is famous for its beautiful beaches, many resorts and exciting nightlife. Cancún is one of the first and most popular destinations for senior class trips, as well as spring break and summer vacations. Cancún, along with the nearby Riviera Maya coastal stretch, possesses gorgeous beaches and exotic Caribbean atmosphere. The city of Cancún has two distinct areas: El Centro is the more conventional downtown area, whereas Zona Hoteleria is made up of a long strip of highrise hotels, nightclubs, shops and restaurants located on the beachfront. Cancún also offers a variety of accommodations, from American hotel chains like Marriott and Hyatt to Mexican establishments like Gran Caribe Real and the Oasis Cancún.
On the Pacific side of the country, Puerto Vallarta boasts incredible beachfront resorts, fantastic nightlife venues, and optional adventure excursions galore. On a senior trip to Puerto Vallarta, graduates can learn to surf, fly through the trees on the second longest zipline course in the world, or go horseriding in the jungle. Student-friendly resorts offer swimming pools, sun decks and spas, as well as an assortment of restaurants where graduates can sample a wide range of cuisines including local Mexican fare. PV's Malecón is an esplanade (i.e. a long open walkway) along the water that has many shops and restaurants. At night, graduates can dance the night away at the many clubs that cater to vacationing students.
Situated at the southernmost tip of Baja California, Cabo San Lucas is known for its sizzling beaches, ocean activities and vibrant nightlife. Though not quite as far south as Cancún and Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas has plenty of warm weather, especially in the spring and summer. During the daytime, graduates can hit up the beach, arrange a fishing trip, rent ATVs to ride off-road or hang out poolside at the hotel. At night, Cabo comes alive with hip clubs like El Squid Roe, Cabo Wabo and many more. Reachable only by boat, don't miss the Instagram-worthy sight of El Arco, a large natural archway in the rock walls looming over the ocean at Land's End.
Our school's trip to NYC with our Performing and Visual Arts Academy students was nothing less than the trip of their lives. With events like: private tours of Lincoln Center and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Broadway workshops with current and rising Broadway stars, lunch at Ellen's Stardust Diner, and still time to explore the city, who could ask for a more wonderful experience! Highly recommend!
