If you are considering a music trip to South America, Argentina is one of your best possible destinations. Located to the north, near the border with Uruguay, Buenos Aires is a coastal city on the Rio de la Plata bay where rivers flow into the Atlantic ocean.
In Buenos Aires students will get to see the birthplace of tango in San Telmo, the Plaza de Mayo, the “Casa Rosada” Government House. They can tour Avenida 9 Julio, the widest avenue in the world, and visit the Recolleta Cemetery where Eva Peron is buried. There are also many museums and, of course, the famous Colon Opera House. Outside the city, school groups can take an excursion to an authentic Argentine Estancia to enjoy a traditional barbeque and folklore music.
